She and the survivors developed disdain for the COG and became Stranded. The Hammer of Dawn destroyed 90% of Sera's surface, but Mikayla survived along with many others. Within those three days, Mikayla was unable to reach the Jacinto Plateau from the city of Aldair.
Mikayla learned from the announcement made by Prescott that all that was left of humanity had three days until the Hammer struck on 33rd of Bloom to reach safety within the Jacinto Plateau. With no other option, Chairman Prescott ordered that every major city outside of the Jacinto Plateau was to be destroyed by the Hammer of Dawn in a swift counterattack. Chairman Prescott was then informed that not only were the Locust Horde gaining spoils of war with each city they conquer - but were using the cities as stepping stones to reach Ephyra. Within the following year of the Locust War, Chairman Tomas Dalyell died in office and was replaced by his Deputy Chairman, Richard Prescott. The safest cities were especially the capital of the COG, Ephyra, and it's neighboring city, Jacinto. During the following year of the Locust War, Mikayla found and familiarized herself with a Longshot Sniper Rifle, becoming one of the most proficient civilian snipers in Sera.ĭespite the Locust being able to emerge and attack in certain places - the cities mostly spared and secured left on Sera were cities located on the Jacinto Plateau within the nation of Tyrus. Mikayla managed to survive the initial onslaught of the Locust. They emerged in almost every major city and were successful in killing a quarter of the human population in the first day, known as Emergence Day. Six weeks after the end of the Pendulum Wars, a race of subterranean creatures called the Locust Horde emerged to slaughter every man, woman, and child on Sera. In the 79th year of the Pendulum Wars, Mikayla was able to witness the near century-long conflict come to an end after the Coalition used the Hammer of Dawn against the Union of Independent Republics.
